Turner Prize Shortlist
How do art awards and shortlists inform our attitudes towards art? Do they confirm or challenge the cultural orthodoxy? Does such a thing exist?

Friedrich Nietzsche, in his seminal piece, On the Genealogy of Morals: A polemical Tract, proclaimed that Knowledge needs many eyes. In our quest for the elusive concepts of Knowledge and Truth, we will need many eyes. To be exact, 90 pairs of eyes. This blog will provide you with a forum outside the four walls of the classroom to share, comment, critique, and engage critically with the TOK course.

This is an interesting example in the arts as this prize always seems to generate a great deal of controversy, due to widely differing views of the worth of the entries.
This leads us back to the question of what criteria we can apply to art work, although perhaps this example makes such criteria particularly hard to identify or agree with.
