Atheism
Each time I search google for definitions or notes on important TOK terms such as 'sense perception' and 'reason', the first website on my results list is http://www.strongatheism.net/. What could this possibly imply? was TOK begotten by atheism or simply by the natural inquistiveness of the human mind?

I think that is a very interesting question and I would love to hear some contributions from others before I make up my mind about some things.
I have never come across this website whenever I search for some TOK concepts. However, to come to Hmensa's question, I don’t think there is any relationship between TOK and atheism. If you have noticed, in TOK we do not discuss religion as an area of knowledge. Why do you think this is? TOK concerns itself with human knowledge that can be examined and investigated. If that is so, how can you investigate a claim that says God exists or God doesn’t exist? The foundation of our religious belief (or unbelief) is faith and it may not require justification. If it doesn’t require justification there will simply be hundreds of questions that cannot be asked and this would put it beyond (or beneath) TOK. I think that atheism, far from being the father of TOK it lies outside its province.
Before I saw Mr. Kidane's post I might actually have disagreed with his comment completely. However, now I only disagree to a certain extent.
After reading hmensa'a entry I checked out the website and have come to this conclusion:
The site(and perhaps atheism) seeks to investigate and disprove theism or the existence of a supreme being by logical arguments. Interestingly, these arguments include some aspects of TOK eg. Natural Sciences, Reason
Yes, TOK does not discuss religion but rather examines and investigates human knowledge. From what I've come to learn it uses logical arguments to come to sensible conclusions- same as atheism.
Maybe, TOK does not discuss atheistic issues but atheism incorporates some TOK concepts and methods into itself. Hence, though they may not be closely bound in one the direct sense, i think they are somewhat related.
