The Meaning of Everything
This is my favourite quote. Douglas Adams once said, 'There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.'

If we come across a theory that states that this is happening, then which one should we accept? and why?
First of all we can not discover ever thing, even how many of us accept things that have been discovered so far? I think there is nothing that we are 100% sure about the discoveries on this world. But they are much close to truth.
I only just saw this. i think its very interesting. i think Douglas' quote may hold some truth. I believe that is unlikely that we will ever completely or even come close to understanding the universe but its in our nature as humans to inquire(normally..not in HGIC anyway) so we keep searching. Its fun to search anyway because we learn a lot more, i do not think its a reason to give up searching becasue that's like giving up cooking because you don't know all recipes in the world...food still tastes good. it's an interesting quote.
I like the thread but I do not agree with Adams in the sense that his claim is not justied (in the post above) However if this is true does it mean the iniverse is being held by our ignorance?
